The guidelines were created in the course of a multi-part workshop. Over 20 experts from various sectors came together to develop a standardised concept with a strong practical focus. As a leading provider of warehouses and an expert in the field of sustainability, GOLDBECK was also part of the working group. René Kaldenhoven, Managing Director of GOLDBECK North and responsible for our industrial building product, and Steffen Bertsch, responsible for industrial building product development, supported Logix and shared their expertise.
Steffen Bertsch: ‘We are delighted with the final result and the publication of the guide. From now on, it will provide the logistics industry with a jointly supported standard and will have a positive influence on the sustainability of the industry.’
The aim of the guidelines is to eliminate inconsistencies in the implementation and interpretation of ESG measures. After all, all experts agree that ESG is highly relevant in the logistics industry. The standardised guideline provides the industry with transparency on the individual ESG measures for the first time and supports stakeholders in planning and comparability with concrete recommendations for the development and management of sustainable warehouses.
With over 200 explanations, the guide offers measures for new and existing buildings and serves as a point of orientation and reference for the logistics sector. A distinction is also made between high, medium and low ESG impact. The guideline also provides the specified sustainability measures with price tags, which are regularly updated to create monetary transparency.
GOLDBECK has already considered the key factors of the Logix guidelines in the new Blue Buildings. To this end, environmentally friendly, smart and economical measures have been defined and sensibly combined. The result is the GOLDBECK Blue Building and the GOLDBECK Blue Building Premium – two concepts for the sustainable design of halls. Both fulfil current sustainability standards and thus the financing and ESG requirements of the market – including the EU taxonomy, requirements beyond the Building Energy Act and sustainability certification according to DGNB.
