The internationally renowned prize is awarded to companies whose pioneering projects are convincing in the field of architecture, among others. The German Design Award not only recognises architectural design, but also takes into account aspects such as landscape architecture and sustainability.

“We are very happy to have been awarded this recognition by the German Design Council. The headquarters of the IN-TIME haulage company is well-known in the region: With eleven different colours, the façade is a visual highlight,“ says Jonathan Schliehe, Head of the Süderelbe office. “Here we are once again proving that the Goldbeck system, in which we work with industrially prefabricated elements, leaves plenty of scope for architectural highlights.“ The use of prefabricated system elements makes it possible to standardise the invisible while at the same time customising the visible. An approach that has led to award-winning projects such as the logistics centre for IN-TIME Transport GmbH.

Sylvia Gienow, Managing Director at IN-TIME, says: “Whether it was the colour concept, the office building modelled on the bow of a ship, the green areas or the energy standard - we are proud of the award and see it as recognition of our joint commitment to quality and sustainability.“

The application for the award summarised the development process of the project, from the idea of IN-TIME founder Christoph Gienow to the implementation by Goldbeck and architect Dr Dagmara Sietko: “From the very beginning, we wanted to create a unique building whose high aesthetics and architectural concept of the façade will be the trademark of the IN-TIME company.“

Particular attention was paid to the vertically installed panels, which reflect the colour concept of IN-TIME's corporate design. These were produced in Goldbeck's own factory in the Vogtland region: 22,682 panels for the building completed in 2019 and 7,700 for the expansion.

The award-winning project was realised in two construction phases. The first construction phase with a total area of around 22,000 square metres was completed in 2019 and includes a hall, warehouse and office mezzanine and office building. The second construction phase, finished in 2022, consists of an extension, warehouse and office mezzanine and office space with a total area of around 10,700 square metres. The first part of the building meets the energy standard of an Efficiency House 55 from 2018, while the extension fulfils the current EE 40 energy standard.
